Apple can't afford $2 per item?

Come on Apple. What was the exact figure, $2.25 or $2.75 per phone? With all that revenue you make every single year, being one of the (if not the) richest corporation on the entire planet, you can't afford what Motorola is asking, and now a Judge says you're so full of crap they don't even want to hear your case?

People should evaluate what company they are giving their money to.

You don't become rich by "giving" your money away.

For the same reason, Apple pays 2% taxes on their incomes, globally (not that other Mega-Corps aren't guilty of it as well.).

Ya but look at what they pay in taxes Domestically.

"Apple paid $12.26 billion in federal taxes for profits generated in the U.S., and $1.06 billion in state taxes."

Interestingly, the author fails to mention what the US profits were so the reader can discern if Apple actually paid the 35% tax rate.

Just because they can afford it doesn't mean they have to pay it. What if you go to McDonald's and the guy in front of you looks like a lower class person and they get charged regular price but you are dressed nicer and they charge you $50 for a burger. You can afford it. I'm sure you spend $50 on stuff. But just because you can afford it doesn't mean they aren't trying to rip you off.

Paying licensing fees for a patent is part of business, Apple's refusing to pay simply because they think that they are above the rules that apply to everyone else......they're not.

A more realistic analogy is the mcdonalds employee realizes apple is i high roller so they offer them less than what they charge others as a respectful gesture.

Then apple gets upset that mcdonalds is charging them anything at all, and says that at most they will pay 1/2 cent for any menu item.
