I didn't need to install any special app..it downloaded and installed with no trouble.... 😕

I think maybe what they mean is that you should you encounter any problems downloading the update to install the app as a workaround.....

iPhone 5 - when I went to update the software it immediately said I had to download the updater. Took about 10 seconds then it asked me if I wanted to update 6.0.1. Process took about 5-6 minutes on wifi.

Yeah..not sure what he's referring to..searched for "iPhone updater" and nothing came up either. It came up in the normal place to look for updates in the Settings app. Maybe Eric was high when he wrote this.. 🤣

Hmm may just be an iPhone 5 thing, not a 4 or 4S. Just read this on 9to5mac
