Whoa!

What does this mean? I have the vx-8000 will my phone beable to have this stuff there talking abt too or just the new ones coming out like the new kyocera and vx-8100 ect.. Will the evdo phones eventually beable to have live music videos like mtv and if they do will it be available for the 8000 cuz I would really like to have that feature. If you could please help me thanks?! 😎
All of this stuff sounds great and all, but what is the price going to be? They say they're targeting the youth market. But damn, those are some expensive data features, and the handsets sound like they're going to be expensive as well.
EDGE is already a solid network, UMTS is only available in several cities.
mannycoimbre said:Actually you're dead wrong about that. A)EV DO will not be as slow as EDGE. B)It's solid right now.
I think it will be as slow as EDGE (UMTS) is coming out. I think they will try it out in big markets such as New York. It will be a long time before it is a solid network.
Inquisitor_Hoth said:After I strained to read it again, it might say that.
I think he ment it would be slow coming out, not that the service itself will be slow.
GPRS and the simple upgrade?
No such thing exists.
EDGE has the same problem.

Actually, EDGE was a very easy upgrade from GPRS. How else did they roll it out so quickly?
constant and endless hours of hard work? lol easiierrr SAID than done.

Sorry. I don't know why I was thinking that Verizon is starting this company. But they will get a good deal of money just for network usage.
RUFF1415 said:Aye.
I was thinking about what I said and I guess its not really a matter of renting additional bandwidth out to a company, but renting out a specific amount of space on Verizon's entire network. After all, CDMA's capacity is crazy-huge.
RUFF1415 said:If it's not additional bandwidth, it's existing bandwidth capable of handling the increased traffic. Either way, it's money in the bank for Verizon.
I didn't think that Verizon had additional bandwith in that many markets. Something tells me that this MVNO won't benefit from Verizon's entire network. This whole MVNO deal is surprising to me.

This isn't Verizon. This is an MVNO. They are just using Verizons network, just like Virgin uses Sprint's.
Exactly. Thank you! 🙂

The "entry-level" Kyocera (which is still pretty loaded feature-wise) will be roughly $100.
Don't confuse Amp'd with Verizon Wireless. They will be completely different, separate carriers as far as the public is concerned, and they will offer a different lineup of phones and services.
