This app is amazing, if it actually works. But people, this app is no replacement for using common sence with the apps that you download. Everybody should of course be vigilant with the apps they chose to download and use. I don't agree with this app being preloaded, as the article says, if it is always running in the background, that will decrease available RAM and decrease battery life.

Whenever a company preloads garbage on to a device, it's never a good day. To be honest, I have been using android devices for a full year now, and have never ever required the use of any anti-virus/spyware/malware service. Never ever.

Me neither. I actuially don't run any virus / malware software on my computer either, ever. Never have, never will. All you have to be is slightly competent to avoid downloading malware or viruses. Last time I had a virus was on my 486SX with 4 MB ram + 120 MB hard drive.

Again - only slight competence is required as far as technology is concerned to know what to, and what not to download.

Advertisments sometimes cause some nasty infections, which is why I run adblocker... Matter of fact, ever since I've run adblocker I haven't had a single outbreak. Probably a year and a half ago. I do enable ads for certain websites, just so they'll get revenue.

Yes, common sense. That's the best anti-virus protection.
Ad-blockers,anti-tracking,malware dectection helps but on a phone, weighs the software down.

I stop using anti-virus personally myself over 2 years ago, and I have never had a issue but all my family members who buy subscriptions to 1+ anti-virus/malware software have had the most problem with their computers getting virus.

So my theory is the "anti-virus/malware software" actually attracts the stuff.

Or it finds things on your computer that it thinks are malware/virus, however are not. I completly agree with you, I also know people who load their computers with this stuff and get lots of it, but I never use it and never have a problem.
