Protect the customers, more like protect its investment

T-Mobile isn't making the min of $20/2gb to protect customers from overage or throttling, rather they are doing it to recoup the $ discounted on the handsets. I took advantage of getting the Galaxy3 for a discounted price and only pay $10/200mb. Most of the time we're near a wifi, why should i pay more.
Tmobile's realized people are doing this and want to protect their investment in a handset.

I don't know how 200MB a month could ever be enough for an Android phone, especially one as powerful as the Galaxy S III....unless you basically never use the data and are on WiFi exclusively. On my Galaxy Nexus I can go through 200MB in a couple of hours just by watching a few You Tube videos or downloading some apps.

If you have WiFi at work and at home, you may not use the phone network that much and be willing to have a smaller data plan. However, I do agree 200MB is not a lot of data, especially considering how inefficient apps are these days.
I guess it's one of those 'your mileage may vary' situations.

200MB is actually kind of a lot for a Blackberry, because of the data compression, when I worked for at&t we were told that 200MB on a Blackberry is equivalent to 2GB on an Android or iPhone....and from what I've seen that's a pretty accurate formula...

200mb may be a lot for a BB but since this mainly affects new customers, whose buying a BB right now?
Plus having a 200mb plan used to disqualify you from your MIR and90% of the people I talk to that have 200mb data also have $15-$30 in overages

200MB is a lot for a Blackberry because Blackberries use data compression to reduce the total data used.....it has nothing to do with how many people are using it.
