I just called a customer Svc. rep @ Verizon and he said he didn't hear anything about the Samsung A970. He also said that the "big guys" at Verizon don't tell C.S. reps before hand about any knew phones that are yet to be released since Verizon doesn't want people to just wait around for the yet-2-be released phones. U know, the business of makin money ! Is it true that this phone can record up to 1 hr. of video in 2 mega pixel digital quality ? If all this is true Sprint, "T", and Cingular are gonna have a tough time competing with it, 'Ya Hear Me?'

I wouldn't be surprised if the phone is somewhere in the area of $300-400 WITH a 2 year agreement. Even more without the agreement...somewhere in the $600 range.

That would actually be a pretty good price considering the fact that it would be the first 2.0 megapixel phone in the U.S. PLUS it( accoring to rumors) can record up to 1 hr. of video ! I paid 395.00 for my Sanyo VM 4500 video when it first came out and it's no where near the level of THIS phone!

Alright! Lemme take the foot outta my mouth! This would be the SECOND 2.0 megapixel phone to hit U.S. soil. Still, 300-400 bucks aint bad for the A970.

$395 sounds like a good price point. Could be wrong, though.

I don't know, though. My guess is around $495.00 staight out but less with rebates for contract agreements. But hey! I'm hoping I'm completely off on this one!

There is NO way this phone will be avail in May. Maybe May '06! But on the realistic side, I'd say its fair to place this phone in a Q4 release, you know, right before thanksgiving.
