What kind of quality can be expected from 2.3 Ghz spectrum? Would somebody say this is more comparable to 700Mhz, or.. more like an AWS signal ? I'm wondering about penetration qualities, any information would be helpful.

More like Sprint's WiMax's spectrum.

I thought you'd say that. I mean, if it was used for Radio services earlier, the spectrum would probably have no problem penetrating cars, thin sheets of metal, and glass. Thats what the spectrum was meant for and thats what it was licensed for. Now that it will be used for cellular services, you'll probably have near 0 signal indoors.

AT&T will never use this spectrum. It will lie fallow like the other spectrum it is hoarding.

To be 100% honest, that's what I was thinking. I mean, there is currently No device that supports that spectrum, and it would only make business sence to them if every single device they sold (when that network is operating) support that frequency, which is very, very doubtful.

They might be planning on using it for microwave backhaul or something.

Because youre right. I don't think any phones out there support LTE in that range.
