Their entire problem as of late, has been proper funds.
I hope they now slam billions into the network, and go to town on the greed that is known as AT&T and Verizon. 😁

If they were making a big comeback I don't think they would need to be bought out....
Just saying....

It's a mutual benefit - why would you decline it? Softbank has a lot to offer Sprint - and Sprint needs the funds.
Sprint made a bad decision with Nextel - same with Wimax.
Out of ALL the wireless carriers, Sprint is the lesser of the evils out there.
So they are making a big comeback. They were (still are) strapped with a lot of debt that is holding them back. Now they're going to be freed of that. It's a comeback - simply put.

They also made a bad decision with the iPhone. Hopefully Softbank can steer them in the right direction.

Maybe with the price they paid for the iPhone - but I'm pretty sure the iPhone has brought them a lot of converted customers.
Almost everyone to have a cellphone, has a cellphone. The only way to gain more users, is to convert them. You can have whatever opinion you'd like about the iPhone, but there's no denying it's selling power. The amount of iPhones that get sold, along with accessories from them, has got to be crazy.
What people are willing to do for that phone makes you wonder how Apple does it.
Sprint getting the iPhone was probably one of the best decisions they've ever made. Initial costs will be high - but the long term payout is definitely there.

It was nice to see Sprint acheive what they did with Dan Hesse but I have mixed feelings about it being owned by a foreign corporation. Nothing more than wishing it could've stayed American owned.

Foreign investment is not a bad thing, most countries have to beg and plead to get foreigners to invest...a foreign country that invests in America is a company that has a reason to want America to succeed and that's a good thing...Japan's gain is not our loss, we are all in this together.....

Sure is a lot of exciting news in the wireless industry
right now with the T-Mobile/Metro merger, and now
this with Sprint. Things really are going tonic really fastbetween 2013 & 2015, very exciting stuff going on!

A few years ago (don't remember exsact dates) I belive in 2008 Sprint sold a large majority of their towers than rented them from a third party in order to generate a large lump sum of money. This did not generate enough funds to do it, neither will the softbank purchase their are still the much more important issues of network, manaement, marketing. This may help Sprint make a big comeback, but catching up to ATT and Verizon is a longways off (over 70 million subscibers.)
