The main reason I use 3rd party GPS applications like Telenav, is I noticed they have a more complete mapping system. Along with you don’t need an Android phone to get complete GPS ( I have Android, Wife has IOS). Not saying Google’s GPS isn’t good, just saying some of those 3rd part GPS systems give a more complete GPS system. Also, Telenav has Scout, a free GPS service, you can also opt to pay for the full service.
