But the contract does not require the carrier to provide a certain kind of network....they could do like at&t did when the Altell network was turned off (and what they will probably end up doing when the Edge network and 3G networks are turned off) and just provide everybody who has equipment which has been made obsolete with a free LTE phone of equal or lesser value of the one they have and they would still be fulfilling their commitment to the customers......those Alltell customers who decided to stick around when at&t took over LOVED it....they got a brand new phone completely free and didn't have to sign a new contract to get it....many people were on the brink of having to upgrade with old broken phones....and they got a brand new one with no commitment...it was a pretty sweet deal, I was actually disappointed that I couldn't take advantage of it because I was already an at&t customer....
