Let's put this into mathematical terms....
The amount of 'stuff' that our smartphones can do is increasing exponentially....we now have Quad Core 1-2 Ghz processors on a bloody smartphone.....that's more power than most full sized computers....of course these things are going to be power hogs...
But battery life is increasing, at most...arithmetically....
The batteries cannot possibly keep up with all we expect our smartphones to do...
My old Nokia feature phone had between 10-14 days between charges....now it is common for me to go to bed at night with 80-90% battery life and wake up 7 or 8 hours later with the phone shut down because it ran out of battery...and all it was doing is just sitting there doing nothing.....that's ridiculous...
