The fact that the smartphone market is bigger than just the US is an important one...and as US consumers, our perspective is badly skewed.....US consumers are more fickle than most, and used to wild flip flops and changing service providers for trivial reasons etc....the stuff which is popular in the US market is not necessarily popular internationally and vice versa...sure, Blackberry is less popular in the US than it is in the rest of the world, but then, the iPhone is far MORE popular in the US than it is in the rest of world....internationally, the iPhone is a blip compared to Blackberry and Android...so the US market is not the only important market.
