RIM Provides More Details About BlackBerry 10
At some point people won't care anymore
I don't think they've reached that point, yet. Many people still support and want blackberry to succeed. If RIM can pull off this new OS, that will give consumers more choice and help innovation in the smart phone and tablet arena. We all need that.

So subscribers and revenue are increasing.....doesn't sound like things are as dire as the tech media make it out to be.....Blackberry 10 is the key....if Blackberry 10 is as good in terms of features and specs, as its competitors, then RIM is back in the game I think.

In the US market, I think it will come down to how many are annoyed with what lacks from Apples or Android products. I think most of us can't stand certain things about out phones and want something new all the time.
Can BB10 attract some of that excitement? Who knows?

Sprint is a US carrier. I wouldn't expect any US carrier to be selling tons of Blackberry devices at the moment.
You need only to look outside the US, and you get a more accurate picture of RIM. It's quite different in Canada, the UK, India, numerous developing countries.

My point is I hope RIM does well. Healty competition leads to innovation. As far as me being misinformed , I gave a question. Asking is it too late for BlackBerry.

You are right, RIM really doesn't have positive momentum in the US marketplace. It's an extremely important market to have too.
My point was really to point out a broader picture that many on phonescoop don't believe. RIM isn't done. They may be in the future, in the US, but not now as a worldwide company thats still growing subscribers.
US consumers are funny sometimes. We seem to "jump ship" for just about any little reason when we hate something on a device, OS, or carrier and go on to something else. Thats why RIM has a chance in this marketplace because its so dynamic.

The fact that the smartphone market is bigger than just the US is an important one...and as US consumers, our perspective is badly skewed.....US consumers are more fickle than most, and used to wild flip flops and changing service providers for trivial reasons etc....the stuff which is popular in the US market is not necessarily popular internationally and vice versa...sure, Blackberry is less popular in the US than it is in the rest of the world, but then, the iPhone is far MORE popular in the US than it is in the rest of world....internationally, the iPhone is a blip compared to Blackberry and Android...so the US market is not the only important market.

Sprint used to carry a ton of Blackberries up until RIM began the development of BB10. Sprint was known for their BlackBerry support and device selections. I get that the selection has gone down to almost nothing. Sprint is supposedly excited for BB10, but not sure how it will play out with Sprint and if it's going to be in their roadmap of devices.
