OK, if you want to bring up OS features....

Try copying an image from a website (say Flickr) and pasting it into a presentation document, movie timeline, or formatted email (maybe you want to send your girlfriend a review of a hotel for an upcoming trip) in ICS.

Go ahead.

Unless I'm terribly mistaken:

Long press image > Copy Image [Location] > Switch Apps (control differs between manufacturers) > Long press into email/presentation > Paste.

At least that's how Copy|Paste works for everything I've used it for, but admit I've never done specifically as in your example (never had a reason to).

Consistently (and correct me if I'm wrong) , if I want to copy a section of a page, it'll only copy the text- images/formatting are ignored.

Long-pressing an image only offers me the ability to save the image.

Wouldn't be able to tell you. That's not something I've ever tried or had any need to do (yet?). I'll try to remember to give it a shot next time I have my phone in hand and get back to you. You could be perfectly right.
