Unfortunately, Apple is starting to suffer due to its longstanding policy of holding back certain features so that they can give customers a reason to upgrade when they add them to the next version. They need to stop holding back and start putting everything they possibly can into the phone and the software...Android is rapidly innovating and Apple isn't even keeping up.....

They can download PART OF the update....the only device which is getting 100% of the new features of iOS 6 is the iPhone 5...everything else is only getting SOME of the new features....

The SDK for Win8 and Win7.8 is different.

the reason the SDK for WP8 and WP7.8 are different is because fundamentally the OSes have vastly different hardware requirements nd features. For anyone who is an WP app dev, WP8 is backwards compatible for WP7 apps.
Like Apple, the 7.8 update adds MOST of the new features on the older hardware.
