I'm sorry to see your android experience wasn't like mine! I've had a couple android devices, but right now I'm using a G1. I've had superd and cyanogen on it, and right now I'm using cyanogen 5, just for reference. Personally, my battery drains away about as quickly regardless of how many widgets I have active. I do notice a bit of lag when my homescreen "disappears" from memory and it has to reload everything. I figured it was the phone itself, as my other android devices have not done this. I also have a RAM hack on it that I suspect is doing this. When it was stock it didn't do that. Other than the widgets themselves taking up too much memory, I dodn't really have any issues with them. I use fancy widgets, a couple of picture frames, color note, data counter, extended controls, temp+cpu, and of course a few apps. I actually have more widgets than apps on my homescreens. I personally love widgets, and on a better phone they would have perfect functionality. I never have used an iPhone, but I am getting curious.
