According to my iPod touch 4th generation it says 9 hours remaining. So I am guessing the bottleneck is on Apples side.

Hit send button at 1:01PM EST. From download to being able to us my iPhone 4 was 35 minutes. I also download youtube app. Quick fix til I decide when I will get another phone.

I downloaded it at around 4pm EST, it downloaded in half an hour and installed very quickly. Didn't download it directly on ipod, downloaded & installed using itunes. Much quicker.

The download and install was actually very quick and easy...not at all as painful as the iOS 5 update was....Apple has definitely improved its servers..

For sure. I remember iOS 5 took me almost all day to get, that was after the forced update of iTunes they make you get whenever there's a new version to download. They are definately improving.

Mine halted because it told me 'battery power below 50%.....the funny thing is the download took less than 15 minutes.....and the battery was at nearly 100% when it started....
They weren't kidding when they said you should keep it plugged in during the upgrade....

I did mine via I Tunes so it charged during the upgrade, but yeah..anytime you have power close I'd recommend using it.

If you have a iPod Touch it will, but you simply go to a contact, and select FaceTime. You can also do this mid-call.
