Consumer Cellular had better have damn good plans to justify 320*480 screen and a 600 mhz processor on Android these days, especially with some of the stellar options other companies are putting out on prepaid.

Consumer Cellular is a company that targets senior citizens who want a 'simple' phone....so it is safe to assume that their clientele don't want or need a top of the line phone....and Consumer Cellular is not a pre-paid service, they have monthly billing...

I had assumed prepaid from "The Fusion sells for $100 and does not require a contract."

This phone would not be any less complicated than a comparably priced phone with a better screen/processor. There are plenty of sub $200 smartphones out there with no contract with a much better user experience.

I would argue that if a senior citizen was taking the plunge to get a smartphone, a 600 mhz processor and a small blurry screen would only really hurt the user experience overall. I'm not saying they have to spend $200 for a phone on contract, but I think it would be "safe to assume" that their clientele would want a phone that wouldn't be freezing up and glitching on top of the steep learning curve required to get used to a smartphone.

Consumer Cellular does not have contracts, and no termination fees, but they are not pre-paid either.....it is the official carrier of the AARP...I learned all this from the endless Consumer Cellular ads on The Hallmark Channel... 🤣

Odd. I looked them up and found that as well.

I still stand by my statement that nobody deserves to use an android phone with a 600 mhz processor; especially the elderly, who are notoriously easily frustrated by flawless technology as it is. I know if someone sold this phone to my grandmother I would be fuming.

I have lots of experience with a 600Mhz phone. My Galaxy 5 has a 600Mhz processor. For running any apps, *ANY* apps, they do load slowly, and perform slowly for the first little bit. But for an entry level device, and for somebody who is using android for the first time, it's not bad. All the menus, home screens, all run nice and smoothly on my device.

But that's a Galaxy 5. Just because the processor speed is the same does not mean at all that it will have the same performance. I had an M835 which is pretty much the same phone as this one. I can tell you, it has its flaws. Matter of fact, I left a review for it, so if you really want to hear my gripes about it then go ahead and read it.
