Great job Apple, more technological waste!

There was no reason they couldn't have just made the iPhone 5 microUSB. They're both using USB 2.0 so they will both have the same limitations on speed. The only advantage is that lightning is reversible, which is very nice, but unfortunately not the industry standard.

They're contributing to technological waste, have instantly made thousands of docks and adapters mostly useless (the legacy adapter looks ugly).

I understand they are a business, and they want to do what's right for their bank accounts, but it'd be nice for them to do what's right for the world and their consumers for a change.
