For some reason this seems like bigger news than the launch of the iPhone 5. And yet no one is even speculating about how the entrance of the largest microprocessor manufacturer on the planet (by far) into the cellphone industry will impact and shape this industry over the next 3 or 4 years, much less the next 10 to 20 years.

My speculation is that Android will have another leg up on the iPhone and could possibly, if intel gets it right, change how we look at phones processors.

Because I am an Intel fan and when I buy a computer I only buy one with an Intel processor.

I used to be the same way....until I bought a Toshiba laptop with an AMD processor because it was $200 cheaper than a computer with the same specs and an Intel processor....and you know what? I don't really notice a difference in performance between my AMD laptop and my Intel laptop....

AMD definately makes quality processors, just like Intel does. Just becuase they're priced lower, doesn't mean they are any less powerful. I have used many computers with an AMD processor, and they have all worked great. Even AMD's version of the Celeron, which amd called the Duron, was at least usable, back in the day.
