For what good it would do

I was hoping to see some LTE interoperability between AT&T and Verizon and Sprint. It would make it easier to switch from one carrier to another, theoretically, if their phones have LTE and support each other's bands. But of course they don't want that happening.

At least there's one version for both Verizon and Sprint LTE. No one's ever made a phone like that before.

You have a point there. This may be a true first for Apple, although I can't see how anyone who buys this phone and signs a new 2 year contract would be jumping ship before the phone is irrelevant. Nonetheless, if you want to jump ship it's your only choice.

...want to make it easier for you to switch carriers. Would you run a business that way? I don't expect carriers to do things that are not in their best interests. If the rules from the FCC don't mandate this then you better believe the carriers won't do it.
