Re: screen size
Not a bad business practice. But as we have seen through their thirty year history, even with very low marketshare they didn't care about consumer choice. Offering no more than anyone else and charging twice as much. They would just as soon go bankrupt before sacrificing some profit margin.
Eventually, history will repeat itself. It has been said that Apple cannot continue to sit back and rely on consumer attraction to the brand name. They must continue to innovate. So far, other than Siri( and I use this technology example loosely), nothing has been groundbreaking.
No doubt this offering will sell extremely well because those that once thought 3.5" was large enough up until now, will become hypocritical and purchase the larger screen. I don't tend to believe all surveys. I have no doubt in my mind that if they offered it as a 4.5", that it would have sold even more. However, it would have cost Apple more to implement the screen due to the pixel density vs size. It's not Apple's MO.
