Updates for the evo's were rather slow as getting the latest iteration of Android, the iPhone 4 had GREAT battery life..until iOS5. From the beta testers, the iPhone 4 and 4S were getting better battery life on iOS6 than iOS5. IDK where you are getting your facts from, but from personal use, my iPhone 4 has had nothing but great battery life. iOS5 caused less battery life, but it's still better than most phones out that are 2+ years old now.
