This story brigns a strange immage to mind
I'm not sure why and do not have the photo shop skills to display the thoughts in my brian, but after reading this I'm picturing an apple shapped death star rising above the horizon.

Well, I know it will draw in the usual 'anything with an Apple logo is better just because it has an Apple logo' crowd, but I don't see why anyone else would have any interest in a music streaming service that only works on Apple hardware.

They wouldnt - and they wouldn't care about it being "interactive" either. It's MUSIC. I don't want to sit there and stare at my device to interact with something, I don't even want to be holding my device. I want to be sitting back, having a cool one.
Music does not need to be interactive. It's freakin MUSIC!

But unless it adds some radical new feature (and whatever the hell 'interactivity' means, that isn't it) no one except the Apple faithful will care....kind of like how no one uses Ping except hardcore Apple fans...
...
No one uses Ping..it's a failure and that's why it has never been apart of an announcement or any sort of refinement since then.
...
Apple could always do their whole "create 'competing' product; block competition from new devices" thing.
You don't need Google Maps, you have Apple Maps!
You don't need Pandora, you have...um....iStream?
