Kevalr is a gimmick

So, they "line" the device with kevlar, or make the base piece of the device partially out of kevlar to increase the strength of the actual device above what it would normally be. If you were to put your phone in a situation where the added strength of the kevlar was put to the test, it wouldn't even matter - your phone would already be destroyed.

Kelvalr may be a gimmich but having used kevalr in my military service I know that my phone wont break easy. Military personel regard Kevalr highly, because if it hasn't saved our lives it has saved one of our buddies lives.

I regard kevlar very highly too - it is a very strong, lightweight material. But we all know - the ONLY reason that it is put into, or mentioned being in a phone, is for Sales and $$$ only - not to actuially make the phone any stronger. It's very deceptive.

It is deceptive but the phone feels better and it looks cool too.

Kevlar may be able to stop bullets and shrapnel, but I can tell you that it is not good in every application.

I have a pair of Lind's bowling shoes that has a Kevlar sole and it is labeled as such for the wow factor, I guess.

The sole is certainly not very tough, as within two months, it was getting worn down on the toe and after nine months, while still usable, it is so worn down that the leather upper is beginning to wear.

I'm sure someone at Lind's thought this would be a great idea, but in practice it was just a waste of money, because in a few months I'll have to buy a new pair of bowling shoes and they certainly won't be Lind's.

I highly doubt that Kevlar on a phone will get the wear and tear that my right bowling shoe gets...

Kevlar was used because it is strong and light weight.

It isn't a gimmick at all.

And the added strength is to offset the thinness of the phone. For those folks that like to put a phone in their back pocket and sit on it.

Kevlar not only adds stiffness, but lateral strength to very thin items. I think it was a good choice as opposed to carbon fiber or metal.

Plus, if I am spared because a stray bullet hits my phone in my shirt pocket...and added plus!
