I think Apple has gone over the edge. As far as MSFT goes, they've had agreements since like the early or mid 90's. I own Apple products, using an iMac now. I just find it disgusting how they are manipulating the patent system to restrict others. Comparing the Galaxy lines to their, yes there is some similarities, most do to function. If the Wright Brothers or their decedents used the same logic as Apple, they'd be suing everyone from Air Bus to Lockheed because all have wings and fly.
In saying all of this, I happen to like my iMac and OSX, I think think the iPhone is a great product but needs a major update. I don't get into this whole fanboi crap between phone OS's. And believe more products and choice available the better it is for the consumer. Honestly, I think well over 90% of these patent suits are frivolous and not only from Apple, though they are the worst offenders.
