PayPal and Discover Team Up on Payments

I was in Home Depot the other day and at the register on the keypad where I was about to slide my card there was an option to pay with my Paypal account. I signed into my Paypal account on the keypad finalized transaction and that was it. The cashier asked for my driver's license to verify I was who I claimed to be and that was it, and all went well.
