Yeah that Onlive system just blew them out of the water. It was a good idea but no needs when you can get current consoles.
...
Pretty much. Once your internet goes out, when what? You're screwed. At least with a console, you can still play without being online.
...
That's increasingly less true as even console games are requiring you to log in to their to be able to play a game...
...
Not necessarily. I never have that issue with any game that I've played. Of course, the strictly online only games, but those are very minimal. PS3, maybe because they have updates every 2 weeks it seems, but xbox, never had that issue.
...
The only time youll have that issue is if you used your XBOX Live or PSN subscription to receive a discount on a Game, or Used your subscription to get a Free game that would otherwise not be free or discounted. In those cases, you must login online before it allows you to play that game.
But with there currently being hundreds of thousands of games available, and the current PSN free game offering being about... 10 games at the moment? You will most liklely never, ever run into this issue.

Try playing Madden 2012....the first thing you see before you do anything is a message saying 'connecting to EA Sports servers'...and you can't play it until that connection is established....
...
Can't find one thing about connecting to EA servers being required. You more than likely can by-pass it. They wouldn't require people to have internet to be able to play the game.
...
Why wouldn't they? It's a great way to restrict people's ability to hack the game....
