FCC and DoJ Approve Verizon Spectrum Purchase
So Much For Consumer Advocacy.
Verizon was very sneaky and the FCC/DoJ fell short of insight.
Everyone hold on to their wallets.

I thought I read an article the other day about this spectrum and cable t.v. I could have misinterpreted that article though.
This has the potential to bring forth a cable monopoly. Verizon is giving up spectrum to Tmobile and also requires Verizon to sign LTE roaming agreement. But in return, they gain a great foothold in spectrum for bundling cable services through broadband rather than wired. Essentially eliminating DSL. It also allows forbidding other carriers to be sold through the cable providers. This does not percieve to be a great consumer interest in spite of what the FCC claims.

They really seem to put the implications of the deal on the side, and just focus on the fact that "there will be more spectrum available".
