So if I'm reading this right...
"two Cortex A15 processors at 1.7GHz per core" so as the Exynos 5 is a quad core, this means the Exynos 5 Dual is eight cores and each core runs at 1.7 GHz?
Holy battery eating technology Batman!

Wait wait...that's the Exynos 4 which is a quad core. So the Exynos 5 Dual is only a dual core.
Right?

Not sure - It says it runs two Processors, not two Cores. I think it said Two A15 processors - I don't know how many cores an A15 processor has, but however many it does, multiply it by 2, as the article does indicate Two separate and independent central processing units that would each have their own set number of corse. Unless i'm reading it wrong.

The Cortex A15 can be single, dual or quad core. So this might just be two individual single-core chips, rather than a single Dual-Core chip. It might also be two dual-core chips rather than a single quad. Either of these situations seem more likely than them jumping straight to two quad-cores (total of 8 cores), not until batteries improve, or they can figure out a way to consume less power with all those cores.

I think your conclussion is a good one, but the article does talk aobut the battery saving power of the new processer. However it will require way more than a 30% decrrease in power consumption in order for that large of processer to become feasable.
