That would seem to be the case but, I think there would still be a need for separate voice and data only plans. They will eventually go completely LTE but, unless the are going to offer unlimited voice and text and let the amount of data dictate the cost of the service, voice plans will still be needed.
On another point, this is proving my point about GSM and CDMA becoming a pointless argument. Eventually, all carriers will go this route. I honestly thought Verizon or ATT would be one of the ones to spear head this but, regardless of who starts it, others will soon follow.

AT&T was never going to be first with this, as both them,Sprint, and other carriers had 2013 as their target VoLTE date. MetroPCS beating out Verizon first is what shocked me.

If you only have 11 towers, it's not that big of a deal.... 🙂

Why do you say that?
Even with VoLTE, voice calls will still be billed as voice.
