I feel bad for Sprint

Sprint seems to be forever doomed to the bad decisions made 7 years ago with the Nextel merger and the decision to ditch Flash-OFDM for WiMax. (Not sure if Flash-OFDM would've been more successful long term, but at least it was functional back in 2005) , and to have their WiMax network operated by a consortium that somehow left Sprint footing the bill but lacking the authority to quickly abandon this dead-end technology quickly.

They got a bunch of useless spectrum, brought a bunch of low-rent customers to Sprint stores (from 2006 to 2010 almost every time I went to a Sprint store someone was being arrested over a billing dispute or credit deposit fee), and are stuck with a '4G' network so damn slow it makes AT&T's perpetually clogged 3G ...

At the time Sprint was over priced, had crappy or gimmicky phones, poor reception, and the worst customer service of all time, at least until Cingular's crummy customer service was merged with ATT's. ATT now wears that crown. The only way I could see Nextel differentiating Sprint was by making them look ridiculous.

Fast forward several years. Sprint's coverage is decent. Their plans are the best by far. Customer service is excelle...
