Wouldn't a better question be 'Why is Sprint thinking to begin with?' lol

Investors like to know what a company is doing...and that is exactly why Sprint is 'Thinking' out loud. I hate to break it to everybody, but sprint is in a very very good position for growth, and in the next year will take a fair share of Verizon and AT&T's customers. The stock price has doubled over the last few months, and this is probably just the start. Wait until Network Vision kicks in nationwide. Unlimited LTE...not that shared gimmick that the others are pawning off on people.

I'm not a Sprint customer, but I generally root for the underdog carriers. However, I do NOT like them speculating on other companies like RIM. I understand that investors are interested in the company's direction, but one would hope that Sprint would be a bit more discreet.

Discreet does not exist in business, especially in a consumer facing business such a the carrier business. Think about all the marketing that goes directly to the consumer? This is simply a part of it.

I understand you sentiment, but like the earlier comments, Sprint is a MASSIVE public company.

And yes, like all other businesses, they are very much self interested in influencing the market. Whether or not this works, only time can tell.
