MetroPCS Galaxy S Lightray 4G, With Dyle Mobile TV, Costs $459
Really?
If one thinks I am going to pay $459 for a phone on the Metro network, think again.
Rather pay $100 for a Chinese clone on GSM.
Keep in mind as well this will probably come with a $100 instant rebate quite soon if past performance at Metro is any indicator. Far better than an i-Phone 4 for $549.99 on Virgin.
Finally, stop bashing Metro's network. In established markets like Florida the voice is as good as any national carrier. The 4G LTE is fast enough for most users (3Mbps regularly with faster speeds during off peak times). Now let's throw in the fact that your first phone is $40 per month and added lines are just $30 for unlimited everything and you have a very good proposition for most sane people. Florida, the North-east, Detroit, Texas and California are their home areas.
The rest of their coverage is SPRINT. Call that a network, or a lease?
They also use US Cellular and Cricket for roaming, not just Sprint. They're called a regional carrier for a reason.

I thought you were in FLA muchdrama. 4G on the better phones is pretty good. It's no Verizon or even T-Mobile's 4G ish service, but it's fast enough...and I rarely run into a spot without coverage.
I'm in South Florida. And the 4G is incredibly slow compared to Verizon's.
Considering I pay $40 per month and have unlimited everything I'd say I'm getting a pretty good deal. For $70 you don't even have to worry about being throttled. More than you can say about any other 4G competitor. I never drop calls and I'm on the old plan that gives me unlimited everything with 100mb of streaming. Since most of my data is web browsing, downloading applications, and e-mail this plan is perfect for me.

I'm also in South Florida and get 3Mbps in both directions. As I said, it's no Verizon but it's like saying Bloomingdales has better quality merchandise than Walmart. Of course they do, but what is it you're buying?

But you understand that Metro has no business calling ...
