Evo 4G vs Evo 3D - major difference? Dual core. Same battery issues. Software issues. Screen mediocrity issues.
The difference between those two phones, and then the new LTE is almost unrecognizable. If HTC was known for the Evo 4G and 3D, then the LTE is completely different from everything anyone has come to expect of them.
No one ever does (for the most part), but not having to carry around a separate point-and-shoot camera adds to the convenience factor. There used to be a time where cell phone cameras used to be what you had at the time, but now, they're getting pretty close to your average point-and-shoot camera. The difference isn't enough for most people to prefer one over the other. Granted, most people aren't photographers, so they aren't as picky as a professional or enthusiast would be.
