Your whole point is still moot: You root your phone.
For the other 90%+ of people out there, their experience with the 3D is less than enjoyable - far less to be exact.
HTC was screwing up for a while - I know that - they know that - everyone knew that. That's why they did a literal 180 on their entire design and hardware specs of their phones.
HTC is now a very serious contender - more-so if you don't like the over-saturation of AMOLED screens.
So yeah, you can count me to hate on what HTC did in the past - I do this because I NEVER want to see them go back there and make the same mistakes again. They need to take their current model, and run it to the sky.
The 3D (non-rooted) really hurt HTC and their brand. I know a lot of people whom won't dare go back to another HTC device, and instead look at the Galaxy phones instead. It's severely disproportionate how many HTC people were fleeing to Samsung, and in turn not having Samsung consumers flee to HTC, but the exact opposite - sticking with Samsung.
