That's funny...

I remember Sprint saying the update for the EVO 3D would be out in May. Then in June. Then in June - July. Now early August. I've completely given up on Sprint coming through at this point.

I know it is sad. I have the Evo 3D and have been patiently waiting, the jurking around does suck though.

You have bigger problems than waiting for ICS if you have an Evo 3D.

See if a store can early upgrade you, or if you can buy an early upgrade.

The phone, in almost all regards, is terrible. The new Evo is excellent however, and I am proud of the direction Sprint is taking with a great deal of their handsets.

I can't complain with my 3D haven't had any issues with it like many people state. Battery last almost all day, I can upgrade at any moment since 2 months ago. I will wait to see the Galaxy Note 2 on August 30th to see how it performs before making an upgrade but for know ICS on my 3D will do me just fine.

Really? Must have missed it. Can you post a link to a Sprint news release or other Sprint news source providing an ICS launch schedule?

Cause there never was an official memo or anything from Sprint saying when it would be released. It was an estimation not a definite. Don't know why people are so pissy about it the 3D is a great phone even without ICS but one persin has got to have what the other does.

For the guy who says the EVO 3D is all around terrible, what planet are you on? While it may have been as big as a hit as the original Evo, it's in every single way a much better phone performance and spec wise. I have rooted my EVO 3D and upgraded to a ICS rom, and let me tell you it makes the phone almost a new device. With the GPU rendering now active throughout the entire UI, everything is smooth as butter and ICS also has better power management, so the battery last much longer than it does on gingerbread. With all that said don't expect the EVO 3D to perform better than the Evo 4G LTE, but it at least gives the phone a breath of fresh air. The difference in performance has made me question upgrading to the next EVO. My contract is not ...

I'm on planet Earth. Nice rhetorical question though.

The fact that you have to root a phone to make it acceptable, right there tells you something is wrong. You know 90%+ of the Android user base does NOT root their phone.....right? You're literally a very SMALL part of the people whom have that phone and use it as such. For the large majority of people, it is a nightmare of a phone.

It's a dual core Evo that EATS batteries alive, and has the same cheap, low-quality display as the original Evo.

The Evo LTE is superior to the 3D in EVERY way possible - besides your gimmick 3D of course - and even then, the camera on the LTE completely destroys the 3D.

First I root almost every android phone I get. And I never said the new Evo wasn't a superior phone. Just stated that the Evo 3d is not the horrible device you made it out to be. And was explaining the benefits that ICS brings to the Evo 3d. And I also said it made me contempt with the phone for the time being and that I will only upgrade when LTe is available in my city. Your judging your performance on the Evo 3d on gingerbread software whichever doesn't have proper battery management and no GPU support. Which leaves everything up to the CPU which leads to poor ui performance and battery performance as well. With better battery management and GPU rendering the Evo 3d experience is greatly improved and owners of the device will greatly appr...

Your whole point is still moot: You root your phone.

For the other 90%+ of people out there, their experience with the 3D is less than enjoyable - far less to be exact.

HTC was screwing up for a while - I know that - they know that - everyone knew that. That's why they did a literal 180 on their entire design and hardware specs of their phones.

HTC is now a very serious contender - more-so if you don't like the over-saturation of AMOLED screens.

So yeah, you can count me to hate on what HTC did in the past - I do this because I NEVER want to see them go back there and make the same mistakes again. They need to take their current model, and run it to the sky.

The 3D (non-rooted) really hurt HTC and their brand. I kno...

And also too add of course a newer device is going to crush its predecessor spec wise in everyway so that's a pretty irrelevant statement. And I've never used the 3d function at all. It hurts my eyes and that's not the reason I bought the phone in the first place. And I hardly ever use a cellphone camera for any serious photo taking so I could care less about it's performance.

Evo 4G vs Evo 3D - major difference? Dual core. Same battery issues. Software issues. Screen mediocrity issues.

The difference between those two phones, and then the new LTE is almost unrecognizable. If HTC was known for the Evo 4G and 3D, then the LTE is completely different from everything anyone has come to expect of them.

No one ever does (for the most part), but not having to carry around a separate point-and-shoot camera adds to the convenience factor. There used to be a time where cell phone cameras used to be what you had at the time, but now, they're getting pretty close to your average point-and-shoot camera. The difference isn't enough for most people to prefer one over the other. Granted, most people aren't photographer...
