It looks to me like there transitioning 3g phones into the "basic" phone slot and 4G phones into the "more advanced" spot.

You can tell by the way there pricing Smartphones over "basic" phones and how on the new plans theres only a 10.00 difference between a basic or smartphone per month.

Can't see why anybody would pay $100 a month for this phone on Verizon.

Because they are picking up a smartphone for about $50 up front instead of hundreds which can matter for some people.

I am actually surprised this phone is even being offered on the consumer end. This is more the type of phone that corporate types might pick up in bulk and issue to employees
