Really, Apple, if you're going to get a phone banned, ban the SIII - that's the phone that's going to and is placing a giant gouge in your face.

I'm telling you, those apple lawyers must be close friends or family members of apple (my opinion)! they rather give money to them than their shareholders!

This is the 'developer's phone' which is being used by every Android developer on the planet in order to create Andriud apps...

In addition, when this phone was released on Verizon in November, it was greeted by a large crowd waiting outside the door, many of whom had been waiting in line for hours for the store to open.

My brother in law waited in line for like 6 hours to buy the Galaxy Nexus on its first day....and there were something like 200 other people with him that day.

Sound like a phone created by a certain fruit logoed electronics company?

My question is why is Apple just now filing this lawsuit on a phone that has been out since November? They can't get the GS3 banned so they decided to focus on something else that Samsung made?

Honestly, these frivilous lawsuits by ALL manufacturers need to stop. Yes, Apple has, by far, the largest amount of lawsuits out but every other manufacturer also have plenty out as well. Focus on new products. Give us new tech. Give us innovation. Stop being spoiled brats that just cry foul over any little thing that ultimately ends up screwing over the consumer and not the manufacturers?

Hey Apple, how about taking all that cash you're tossing out in court and use it to force your suppliers to actually improve working conditions and pay for th...

The phone has been out forever. The people who want it, got it - and the rest are probably going for the SIII anyways.

Apple is just taking whatever they can get.

All I'm saying, is realistically, Samsung isn't crying a river over this.

No, you're wrong about that....THIS is the phone the Android geeks want....because it is stock Android without any carrier or OEM modifications, this is the only phone that has the authentic Ice Cream Sandwich experience...

And the fact that it has been available since November is irrelevant, because it has only been available UNLOCKED since early May...

Cool, so all 5 of you are stressing the importance of this.

If I was to look at Samsung profit margins, I'm sure you, and people like yourself make up.....well, nothing.

In the grand scheme of things, this is hardly effecting Samsung's sales.

Their cash cow and most popular phone is the SIII. The Nexus at this point, is a joke.

It's not a hit at Samsung, it's really a hit at Google. Google has made a huge investment in the Nexus line of phones, first the Nexus One, then the Nexus S and finally the Galaxy Nexus. They have heavily promoted this line of phones as the absolute best, absolute top of the line, most authentic, most real, the best of the best of the best of the best that Android can offer. They put the absolute, top of the line specs, with the absolute top of the line processor, all the newest and most up to date features, and Nexus phones ALWAYS get first dibs on new updates to Android. The purpose of the Nexus line is to put out a Google branded top of the line phone, with the most authentic Android experience, in order to show off what Android can ...

I think you're overstating the severity of this.

You act as if the Nexus is hands down the most influential Android phone on the market.

You're also acting as if this will put a steady halt to development of Android apps.

This is a minor thorn in Samsung and Google's side. They'll pay Apple off, or fix whatever needs to be done, and go on about life.

When looking at the phone wars, this is hardly an important piece.

Trust me, devs are not going to let this stop them.

First of all, there is no such thing as an item which 'everyone who wants it already has it', least of all a cell phone, which people have to wait until they are eligible for an upgrade to get....

Second, if you think that this has something to do with sales, then you don't understand why Apple is attacking the Galaxy Nexus.

This isn't about going after Samsung, it's about going after Google.
