heh
I had a Sprint customer try and tell me Verizon has their inventory and they'd get theirs on the 7th if they went with Verizon. I laugh at you customer. I even told you that the date they saw on the site was not a guaranteed date. Samsung botched this release.

Was it Samsung? Or did Apple put pressure on suppliers to restrict parts to Samsung?
The latter seems very likely if you ask me....classic monopolostic behavior on the part of Apple.

We (Sprint) only had the 16GB model, but they didn't ship any 32GB models to the carriers. We didn't know that until the original launch of the 21st. After the first batch of 16GB, that was on hold until a little over a week with the new launch date for both models.

Did they? I keep hearing people say that "Samsung botched the release" but none have shown any evidence of this being their fault directly. They seemed to handle the international release (the one they have more control over) just fine. These delays seem more like the US carriers simply didn't order enough initially to cover both their large pre-orders (much of which may have come late in the pre-order window) and to stock their stores sufficiently. If the carriers need more, they can't just ship in a bunch of surplus international versions, they need their own branded devices with their specific radios / specs made.
Not trying to defend, just haven't seen any specific evidence of Samsung's hand in carrier specific shortages.

With Sprint, we just plain didn't get any 32GB devices. They only shipped us the 16GB model. We didn't have any inventory until the day before the launch date.
