I'm a loyal Blackberry user going back many years and I WANT to stick with the platform...I've been sitting on my upgrade since March....I can't wait until NEXT March I need to upgrade sometime this year...

So do I just get a Blackberry 7 device and hope that maybe by the time I am eligible for my next upgrade 18 months later, that MAYBE Blackberries will still be around and that Blackberry 10 will be ready....

Or do I just say 'to hell with Blackberry' and pick up a new Windows 8 device when they are released around October?

Right now I'm about 50/50...

I was in this position late last year. I got a Torch 9850 running 7.1 and it's been dead reliable. OS7 is much better than 5 in it's appearance.

My guess:
-BB10 and the phones that come with it will be introduced much to the dismay of 90% of phonescoopers 🤣
-If no one buys them, governments stop using them, and people in 3rd world and rich arab countries shun RIM and their 1 billion isn't saved through cost cutting measures through 2013 like they say...In other words if they mess up their return to PROFITABILITY...

I am not sure what to say.
Windows 8 looks like it might have a si...

You should have gotten an android, iOS, or MS a long time ago. Backberry will never change they will always be the Curve 8310 and nothing else. What makes you think blackberry won't push the date back to 2014 thats if they are still around.

I would say hang in there, I have the bb9930 and I love it, I had an HTC EVO and mytouch 4 g. We all know that as far as apps and browsing android is great, but I got tired of the having to charge the battery up 2 to 3 times a day. These bulky android phones are horrible for talking, plus the sound quality is medicore at best..I thought It would take a while to get over the market place but it really didn't. The 9930 is so smooth, perfect size and weight...I'm one of those people who always has to have the new thing, but now I just want a phone I can talk on and not have to buy spare batteries
