Metro PCS is on to something. Has anyone taken a look at their plans? I know they don't have expansive coverage over the entire us but their plans are so good that people can use them as a home phone, if they get LA & Houston they will really have a huge increase in the population they cover.

MetroPCS may have an unlimited plan but you pay for everything else and coverage is below average. MetroPCS has very bad customer service; poor phone selection; and you have to pay to receive your bill...not to mention having to pay a $3 fee just to make a payment. When it's all said and done you end up paying close to $60 per month. Not to mention they don't have any roaming agreements therefore your phone isn't worth the plastic that covers it once you're out of the coverage area. If you're relying on having service and need assistance from your carrier, MetroPCS is not the company for you. If you can't get approve with a national carrier or if you are not old enough to sign a contract then all you have is MetroPCS or some sort of pre-pay...

Even though they might not have the best phone selection, there price is very tempting. I live in Atlanta and there coverage in Atlanta is great. BUt dont travel too far outside the atlanta and metro area. Metro Pcs is just living up to it's name "Metro". Its only going to work in metro areas. Now metro PCS is smart. They're growing every year. If they keep going at this rate they are going to have coverage in every major city. Customer wise, Metro Pcs has the most customers in the Atlanta area. If they keep growing it may be applicable for everywhere eles.

I think they've improved service to the point where it's a viable option for many people. Buying up new licenses and starting service in new...

Companies like MetroPCS and Cricket are hot commodoties where they exist. The only people who don't benefit from their price plans are people who travel outside their footprint.
They are also very lenient on credit requirements so they open themselves to a market that would otherwise have had only a pre-paid option.
Maybe Sprint should have plans that offer unlimited minutes with a PRL that only includes Sprint SIDS.

That's actually a great idea. Or at least it makes sense to me. I imagine that metro is becoming somewhat of a thorn to traditional carriers in the areas they offer service.
