The data widget measures data on individual devices and can not work as is with the share everything plans coming out tomorrow. You can still have a shortcut that takes you to my verizon mobile and you can see te data usage for the account.

And all people are your account are automatically enrolled in the notification system when the account hits 50%, 75%, 90% and 100% Of the shared data plan.

Verizon has built the system to let everyone know when they are getting close to going over.

Oh ship. I see. But my point is, Family Share doesn't really work like that, does it? It's automatic. As soon as you hit the next milestone, you're charged for the next available data plan.

Carriers do not make money from overage fees, not least of all because 90% of the time or more customers don't even pay them because they are waived...what happens is that the customer is assessed an overage fee, gets angry, calls customer service, customer service explains the fee and offers various options to address the problem, and by the end of the call an agreement is reached 'we will waive the fee provided that you do x, y and z'...the customer agrees to it, the fee is waived, the end....

Overages fees are not a way to make money....they are a tool to try to control customer behavior, the point is to get the customer to behave in a certain way, thereby making sure the overage is never charged....

For an overage fee to be assesse...

Uh dude I'm pretty sure how it works is as soon as you use data, 50 bucks. You go over that first gigabyte, 60 bucks. Go over two gigabytes, it's 70. I'm pretty sure that's how this whole Family Share nonsense works.
