I think they will be more like transformers, turning into T.V.'s cars, boats, you name it. Seriously though, sounds like Verizon is going to get a big boost in cell phone selection coming in late 2005.

No. That means you'll be getting the standard Verizon and Sprint EV-DO capable handsets.

😳 Not sure about this for 1 ED-VO is barly into markets across the USA and Verizon does not contract enough handset for that speed. On the other hand it does give a chance for others to join in....I wonder if Qwest try as well as Virgin and ESPN mobile.

Verizon will be thoroughly expanding their EVDO broadband coverage within 2005, they are currently covering more than 30 major cities, not including airports. three new phones are being released feb 01 that have EVDO access.

It means we'll finally have a carrier with a serious focus on handset technology. EV-DO networks plus newer phones faster from Korea could definitely be a killer combo.

If they can deliver, it will be great. It will be interesting to see. It's also possible they'll discover it's not as easy as they thought, and with FCC approval, etc, they may end up not that far ahead of Sprint and Verizon...

But if they make it work, it will leave Sprint and Verizon with fewer excuses when people ask why Korea is so far ahead and we are so far behind.
