Since nobody here bothered to do a basic Google search as to the difference between the patents Apple is suing these other companies over vs. the patents Apple is suing over abusing, let me break this down:

1) All of these companies are part of a trade group. They all have contributed to the field of wireless communication as we know it today, with each holding patents essential to the very technologies our phones rely on. Obviously, it'd be crippling if someone bottlenecked things such as LTE or GSM communications, or HTTP data transfer. That's why these patents are covered under what's known as FRAND terms, which means a company will not artificially inflate the value of the patent to stifle competition.

Yet if you look at the industry news, Apple pretty much sues everyone for anything.

'This company's phone almost looks like ours..sue them'

'Hey, they're using tech we want..sue them.'

Etc., etc.

There is a board that reviews such things, but again, what criteria does one use to determine fairness? Potential cost to the company, profit made by use of the patent.

I think if anything Apple is hiding behind FRAND in many cases. If you think that the reasons Apple is suing is ALL about protecting their 'IP' or patents you are wrong. There are many injunctions they have asked for that directly affect end users as well as harm competition. Patents to which they did not invent. Suing a company because their device uses programming that relates to how ...

You are the one that seems to ignore everybodys comments.... Im sorry how you can't see that apples credibillity is lost no matter the legitacy of this ONE lawsuit, Apparantly you never read the story about the boy who cried woof. Ignoring the obvious makes you lack your credibillity as well. Kinda like hookers that cry rape....No one feels bad...
