I really get tired of saying this so this will be the last time (today):

There's no such thing as being 'too late' to enter a market....

When you say that product X is 'too late'....the implicit assumption behind this is that the way the market is TODAY is set in stone and that this is the way it will be from now until the heat death of the universe.....which is nonsense....

It's not true of ANY market that it is set in stone, and it is certainly not true of the smartphone market, which has witnessed an exceptional amount of volatility over the last 5-10 years...

The last thing we want is for it get to the way it is with PC's....where you have Windows with market share and all the other OS's in the single digits....you know it didn't always used to be that way, as recently as 1990 there were a good half dozen or so major PC operating systems, you had DOS, you had the Commodore 64, you had the Commodore Amgia, you had the Apple II, you had the Mac, you had the Atari ST....and I'm sure I could remember a few more with a little more time....

It was better when there more options....when it wasn't just 'Windows and......also rans'......let's not let the same thing that happened to PC's happen to smartphones! Let's keep the diversity, please!
