Is Sprint really in a position to afford something like this?

If they are or not settling is always the best way to go about something that cant be won in court. This would just get more expensive for Sprint if they were to be proven guilty for it.

i don't tthink they have much of a choice. the everything messaging plan was falsely advertised anyways. it charged casual data charges for a lot of their customers.

Ok, quick correction. The intention and features of the plan were correctly advertised. There was a system error that was eventually corrected that charged casual data charges for sending MMS. Some of the impacted accounts received a credit for the error. I have no idea how many impacted accounts were credited and how many were missed, before you ask. Assuming that the casual data charges were for MMS only, then the claims are valid as the charges are not. However, if customers were browsing the internet on their phones on a messaging plan, the casual data charges are valid. Any disputes for that issue have to be researched on a case by case basis to ensure that the customers were not actually using data.

I got so tired of trying to tell the customer it's when you open up a message from this or that. It was crazy. Why they couldn't fix this I don't know.

The day that Sprint can't afford to pay $19 million is the day they need to just give up and file for bankruptcy...seriously....that's gotta be less than their monthly payroll...
