While we're suing VZW, lets sue some other people. Sue Disney because they didn't tell you Space Mountain would make you throw up. Sue Microsoft because they "make" you give them money for a new version of Windows. Sue McDonalds because you ate too much of their food and got fat and they didn't tell you that. Wendy's can get it too. Sue you're minister because you're still a sinner or not quite saved. Sue you car dealer because they didn't tell you gas would go up in price after you got that car. And, while youre at it, sue your parents because they didn't tell you life could be hard, isn't fair, and that **** HAPPENS. Call Johnny ****rain dammit 🙄

Exactly. While they're at it they should sue Hyundai for making a car thats not as fast as a Ferrari. I like the car dealer/gas comparison. That hits it right on the head.

It's more like someone suing a car mfr. for selling a car with a radio, but locking them out of certain stations because it would anger Clear Channel.

Get it, moron?

Whats with the name calling? Anger Clear Channel? Oh yeah that makes sense..."Ummm we are angry because millions of people are listening to our radio stations. Now if a car mfr. sold cars with strictly XM or Sirius and no FM/AM radio then that would be understandable but again it comes back to that you guys have choices where to take your business. No one is forcing these sue happy customers to stay with VZW. They can simply pay the ETF and go to Cingular without questions asked.

The etf should be waived and the phone returned no questions asked

TheVerizonMan

No it shouldnt because it states clearly in the contracts that if you want to leave VZW then pay the ETF. I do agree with you however, that the phone should be returned at no cost, therefore, the customer can get a new phone but to waive the ETF is a lil too far for people assuming.

As does the V710 That it is Bluetooth. Is it? Not totaly as we were told it to be. Also we were told about upgrades to the software. We all assumed VZW would do what they said when we first received this phone, to date they delivered BS. I think this is what this matter is about.

Yes the v710 is bluetooth. Is a Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse bluetooth because it cant transfer files? Verizon never set an offical date or release for the software upgrade. It told you guys "projected" and "planned" dates. Plans change. Thats business.

That is not changing plans, that is missleading people to think if they kept this phone it will have the features we expected. Not to have VZW turnaround and say sorry pal your F**ked.

Last time I checked, VZW and most other big companies have something called BUYERS REMORSE (echo, echo, echo)... If it didn't work, take it back. If you got a sandwch from a deli and they didn't tell you that they don't have mayonnaise, would you sue? Well you might, but not informed, adult consumers. They would take it back for what they want. It doesn't take 30 days for you to figure out that something doesn't have what you wanted. Things get left out of everything. Sue a cell company because they don't work well in your area. Sue your cable company because you can't get clear porn. Think about it

Hmm... actually I work for and use Cingular, the company whose butt you lips seem to be glued to. My post is ridiculous because this lawsuit is ridiculous...Yes I'd be mad if I bought the V710 (well one of the first 100) and needed the OBEX support. And yes, those initial customers who are complaining about it (those who bought before the news about the BT came out) are entitled to something (free phone perhaps). But suing when you paid for something and then wanting more than a refund or equal restitution (*sniff* do I smell profit) is unreasonable. Did it endanger your life? Nope. Did it ruin your home life? I hope not. Did it inconvenience you? Probably and thats about it. You don't sue for a minor inconvenience unless it cost you a l...

Read the article, VZW only advertised that it will connect to your PC or PDA; the BT name is advertising as well, indirectly.

No, they indirectly used the BT name which is why BT is just as pissed off as Verizon's customers.
...
TheVerizonMan

Jan 19, 2005, 7:15 PM
What are you guys talking about? They didnt use the name indirectly. The phone simply has bluetooth. Thats using it directly. Bluetooth is not just being able to transfer files. Bluetooth is simply a wireless connection between 2 devices. Thats it. The phone has bluetooth. No matter how much you guys dont want to admit it. Again ill go back to the comparison of the MS bluetooth keyboard. Just because it cant transfer files to the computer doesnt mean that it isnt bluetooth.

The point is that VzW won't have to show prrof that it doesn't to win this frivolous case. They advertised that it can connect to your PC or PDA, which it can using it as a wireless modem. They advertised that it has bluetooth capabilities, which it does... it has three profiles, just not the one you want, so don't buy it... VzW will win this case hands down, no problem, but we probably won't hear much about it in the future...

When they say bluetooth, you would expect total bluetooth, yes? If not, they should have advertised "almost total bluetooth". But if they had done that, people would have asked which part of the bluetooth doesnt work" and when VZW told them, sales of the V710 would have sucked so bad, VZW would have had to make it full bluetooth..see my point??
