What's The Big Fuss Over VZW???

Now, I can understand that people are mad that VZW is selling a phone that is not capable of certain file transfers that work with other carriers( US Cellular & Alltel), but the fact of the matter is, if the bluetooth working 100% on the Moto 710 was so important to any of them, then it was their responsibility to make sure of that before they bought it. For those of them that bought it and were told by either VZW or Motorola that the crippled bluetooth on the 710 would soon be fixed, it was still their responsibility to return it before their trial period was over if that turned out to be false. No one forced any of them to stay with VZW. Plus, what are any of them going to receive out of the lawsuit?? No compensation will be put into THEIR...

With all the other REAL problems going on in the world, so many people here seemed to be concerned with the bluetooth on the Moto 710???? 🙄 I'm out!!

Seriously. The only thing I want to comment on, and I've said it elsewhere in some posts, and that this is such a big deal to people on this site. Their hatred for VzW is so ingrained that it has now inspired over 300 posts on this news article about VzW getting sued!.... Why? Tell me, fellas. How did VzW hurt you so? Why the sour grapes?

As an example I've also given before, the T-Mobile hacking case is also a news article just below this one. Less than 20 people had something to say about that... National security is on the line...

The reason for the inequity is that even though Cingular has more customers than Verizon temporarily they realize that is a temporary arrangement. They are choking on Verizon envy because Verizon is pretty much what what they want to be.
Any negative news about Verizon is good for them. They expand on it and beat it to death.
This is merely a lawsuit filing, not a judgement so to get all excited about it is more than a little premature.
The only thing Cingular has on Verizon technologically is Bluetooth. I'm not convinced that Verizon is wholeheartedly committed to Bluetooth. They may be looking down the road to other emerging technologies or ways to incorporate existing technologies such as 802.11g.

My main point was that it is the consumer's responsibility to make sure they know that the product they bought does what they want. If it doesn't, VZW gives you a trial period to cancel and return. If you think they are full of crap for introducing their first bluetooth phone without all its capabilities, then they should get another carrier. I think that VZW isn't all that great. They're plans are too expensive compared to most carriers and their phones are mediocre for such a large company, so......I choose to not have Verizon as my wireless carrier. Some people are just not smart consumers and those people are the same ones that always are quick to want to sue everyone alive because they made a mistake and now they are mad. Boo hoo 😢 ...

you read this website and i am guessing others like it, so you know what is going on. if you look at the page verizon has (or had) for the phone there is nothing telling you it is limited bluetooth functionality. if you read their info and had a working knowledge of bluetooth you would never know that the phone was crippled. they were very careful in their working. it says you can "connect to your PC or PDA at any time over bluetooth". there is no astrix saying it can only do a few things bluetooth can do. it does not say you can ONLY connect to your desktop PC to use your cellphone as a modem. besides file transfering, it does not support all the MAc OS X built in bluetooth fun other phones have. you can not use the desktop machine as Calle...

Everyone always retaliates with "it didn't say it couldn't do it." Well, when you buy a car, do they have to say "*This car does not have a supercharger." sure it has an engine, but that doesn't mean it has a supercharger. It is not a company's responsibility to say what it doesn't have, only what it does. I understand people are frustrated, but there is no ground for this dispute, customers do have a small degree of responsibility when making a purchase.
