Verizon Wireless Sued Over V710 Bluetooth Limitations
Idiots.....all of VZW customers

You all have too much speculative time on your hands...plain and simple...you got a crappy phone....so what....if you read the VZW website...and had done your research....it does say what bluetooth profiles are supported.....so get a life and quit your complaining.
But the fact is, if they did their own research on the product, there wouldn't be a problem.
Just go back and read all of muchdrama's posts. I have yet to read anything of his on this topic that doesnt make perfect sense.

What do you tell those people who don't have the internet and the sales people tell them that there has not been anything disabled?
And again, who are these people that *need* full bluetooth functionality and don't have access to the internet?

They don'e exist... or wait maybe they do, I think I remember now, they were short little people and they showed a girl from kansas how to go along some kind of a brick road, yellow maybe... Nah... they definately don't exist.

The problem with the know it alls like us is that we assume everyone in the world can do the research. My parents go on the internet but are not as savvy as I am and have a hard time doing stuff like that. I myself did not buy the phone because I did more than the average research. If you call Motorola they tell you that the phone has not been disabled by Verizon, in fact I wish I did not erase it but I had an email from them stating that fact. Verizon tells you the same thing. The website tells you that you can connect anywhere at any time. Its not until you go 4 or 5 pages deep do you find out the real truth.
Your parents are probably not itching for bluetooth on thier phone either...

I know I sounded like an ass, but the point still stands. Now it doesn't make it...

All I want in a phone is the ability to transfer ringtones and mhy pictures to and from my computer. The 710 sounded like the answer. I hear now that they also disabled the TF card from doing this but I hear both sides on that one here on this site. I need a new phone and Verizon told me that they are stopping this on all their phones..... Can someone reccomend a Tri-mode that I can do this on since the 710 is not an option.

Why not answer the question and keep your vitrialic tongue to yourself.
P.S. It's "vitriolic".

Actually he did answer your question by pointing out if this feature is important to you, then Verizon Wireless is probably not the carrier for you.

EVERY company has employees that aren't the best at what they do. But the information about the v710 wasn't hidden...the customers could have easily figured out their product with a little light reading. You're and X-files fan, aren't you?

The point is....once anyone found out the phone could not do what they thought it could, why not return it while they had a chance during the trial period?? That would have saved everyone all the drama. If VZW and/or Motorola said they would fix it later and that did not happen before the trial period was up, oh well, it was the consumers job to return it. Bottom line.

That is a very good point. The only flaw is that if enough people testify that they were told by verizon or motorola that there would be a "fix", then they could argue that verizon offered false promises to keep custom...

the orig Moto page for the phone boasted all the phone's abilities including wireless file transfers etc etc etc. since then Moto has revised it to meet what they had to lock out.
my point is IF you did your research and read up on the Moto page, then the verizon page and got the phone when it was first released there was no official indication that the phone was crippled. the verizon sales staff are generally wor...

if you did not read sites like this, you would not have known for a long time about the phone being officially crippled. it eventually made it into the WSJ and other mainstream publications, but that was well past the 15 day trial period for early adopters.
"Trial" generally infers some sort of *trying* to make sure the phone works as you hope/wish/think it will. What does that have to do with reading websites?
